Dr. Gebran has been teaching Physics and Astronomy at Notre Dame University Louaize since 2012. His research interests include the chemical composition of stars. As part of his research he has extensively developed software for astronomy mostly using opens source tools. In his everyday work, he uses Ubuntu and/or Fedora as an operating system, fortran, python, C++, and Java for programing, and a set of plotting softwares (Grace, gnuplot, python, topcat,... ). He is an ardent advocate of the use of open source in society, especially in academia.
