Dr. Farhat has been teaching computer science since 2002 and at NDU since 2004 where is now an associate professor of computer science. At NDU he mostly teaches system courses (operating systems, computer networks) and his research is in computer/network security. Prior to that Dr. Farhat was the system analyst at the Center For Advanced Mathematical Sciences (CAMS) at the American University of Beirut from 1999 to 2002. At CAMS he was in charge (among other things) of setting up and administering a cluster of Unix workstations and implementing an open source based queuing system for the Unix cluster. Dr. Farhat has provided numerous consultancies and training in Unix/Linux based solutions for commercial enterprises.
