Otoom is an Assistant Professor of Computer Engineering at YU since 2012. He received his PhD in Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech (USA). He worked as a software engineer at estarta solutions (Jordan) in 2003, software system analyst at YU in 2004, and a freelancer from 2005 to 2012 (USA). Otoom has done his masters in Software Engineering in the polytechnic campus of Arizona State University, USA, where he thoroughly used open source technologies in courses and projects. In his PhD, he has developed a simulator for multicore systems under Linux, therefore, he has an academic experience in developing Multi-platform, Open-source projects. His current undergraduate and graduate students make a great use of OSS in their projects.
